The Department of Administrative Services is looking for a dynamic person to come help a tight-knit, but welcoming, team manage the state’s extra property while listening to classic rock! The hired candidate will work both indoors and outdoors to pick up property from different agencies, help load and unload surplus property at the warehouse, and operate cars, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment as necessary. Additionally, the new team member will have the opportunity to research information about specific items and assist with the sale or other disposal of the property by working with state agencies and members of the public.
Hours of operation of the shop are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position is available at least for 2-3 months, up to 6 months. Both persons interested in full-time and part-time work are encouraged to apply. Fancy dress clothes are not needed or recommended – come dressed in casual (but appropriate) attire!

Qualifications / Requirements :
REQUIRMENTS: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; research; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency. OR Experience in performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment. Forklift certified or willing to be trained.
PREFERRED: Experience using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, as well as web browsers/internet. Experience working in a warehouse setting and with heavy equipment.
OTHER: Possess a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Ability to safely move, drag, and lift up to least 65 pounds, including desks, tables, file cabinets, shelving, and other heavy furniture; use equipment to move, load, and unload material; drive automobiles, vans, and trucks to transport surplus property; and work in outdoor and warehouse temperature extremes. #cb
