Position Overview

Kiewit Technology Group (KTG) is looking for a leader for its Data Architecture group. Striving to mature Kiewit’s data practices and services, this individual will ultimately be responsible for the strategy of KTG’s catalog of services within its data disciplines including addressing any gaps. The Sr. Manager of Data Architecture will staff and develop a team of data professionals adept in strategy, architecture, engineering, analysis, or any other required discipline necessary to be successful. We are looking for an accountable leader that has a strong track record of service creation and optimization, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the steadiness of being able to develop a multi-year plan and carry it out in a deliberate fashion. This role will be highly visible to all departments of KTG and many departments that support Kiewit’s greater work in engineering and building projects across North America.

This is a hybrid position and will be based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street, Omaha NE 68137

Responsibilities

• Constantly analyze Kiewit’s current data services, both technical and non-technical, concerning business needs and industry standards
• Maintain a long-term strategy for data services and capabilities for recommendations and approval of senior leadership within KTG for approval and execution
• Communication to senior leadership regarding the progress of approved plans inclusive of measurable indicators of success and major milestones achieved
• Oversee a team of professionals that will, if necessary, create, augment, and improve data services and disciplines across KTG
• Drive change throughout the organization via service and process change through influence and other change management skills
• Act within the primary stakeholder group in all data technology platform decisions
• Educate and persuade peers and leaders throughout KTG and greater Kiewit to further data literacy and the importance of these services
• Hire, develop, coach, mentor, assign, and hold accountable Data Architecture staff
• Develop measurement and reporting of appropriate metrics and KPIs to track progress
• Form effective relationships with KTG and other Kiewit leaders to ensure alignment of priorities and objectives
• Work to anticipate and resolve issues, conflicts, and other barriers to project success as they arise

Qualifications

• Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 – 10 years experience in Management with an emphasis in data architecture, design, and data management practices
• Solid knowledge of enterprise-level service platforms for data operations, reporting, warehouse, and data lake capabilities in the context of business capabilities
• Knowledge and employment of systems and software development methods, organizational change management concepts, and business process improvement methods
• Experience working with ERP systems preferred (SAP is a plus)
