POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manager, Commercial System Operations is responsible for managing current, and future, Commercial Business Systems and leading business analytics, reporting on key business performance indications and drawing insights from data. The primary scope includes commercial business areas of Santen US and may include some responsibility for Santen North America. This position is responsible for insuring all cross functional Commercial Operations business team’s functional data, system and analytic needs are met for current and future Commercial Operations systems. The manager is the key liaison between those functional areas and Santen’s Digital & Information Technology (DIT) and will ensure continuity during maintenance of existing system implementations, as well as oversee future implementation as new business needs arise, or current needs change. This position will report to the Director of Commercial Operations and will have significant interaction with cross functional teams.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with regional stakeholders to enable Santen North America to achieve its goals and objectives through the effective use of commercial and related systems
• Assist in the development of commercial system standards and ensure compliance with the standards and procedures in the North American region
• Partner with business areas to understand their operations, define their requirements and propose IT solutions consisting of key Commercial IT projects
• Assist in strategic planning processes and collaboratively develop plans and roadmaps to address organizational needs and goals
• Manage vendor relationships related to Commercial Business System needs
• Gather, review and interpret business data requirements
• Supports business efforts to improve business processes and drive profitability by developing insightful analytics and reports
• Works with various functional leaders to implement process improvement and efficiency gains
• Gather, review and interpret business data requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Strong skills in SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint required
• Knowledge of Commercial business domain, preferably with experience in pharmaceutical industry
• Experience in dealing with outsourced IT partners and offshore implementation companies
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in designing/implementing/managing business applications including systems that support Commercial Operations functional areas
• Knowledge and experience in the implementation and management of CRM systems, preferably Salesforce (OCE)
• Strong knowledge, and hands-on experience, in data warehouse, master data management and business intelligence tool implementations
• Understanding and experience in application system development project, application development life cycle, testing methodology, and change management
• Experience operating in regulated environment
• Strong in logical thinking, time management, decision-making, and problem solving as able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, presentation, documentation, facilitation, and communication skills
• Strong writing and communication skills
