Role Summary
This is an operations position responsible for maintaining and coordinating all slotting processes with a goal of reducing the overall operations cost per case. Must manage to develop slotting processes resulting in improved productivity. Take Ownership of the entire Slotting/Cubing process. Always looking to establish new and innovative ways to do business. Establish relationship with Purchasing to assist in reduction of product days on hand.
Position Responsibilities
Determines placement of all incoming merchandise and ensures entirety of product is slotted within at least one receiving day prior to arrival at Jake’s Finer Foods. Appropriately update Jake’s systems for the next respected selection process
Oversees completion of moving product as needed, making room for new and currently slotted products to efficiently utilize space. Accurately reflecting all changes made physically into Jake’s software system
Communicate updates in pallet configuration of new and relocated product to buyers and the purchasing team on a weekly basis.
Evaluate and determine optimal location for current slotted product. Making product moves daily to improve productivity
Ensures the collection and input of accurate case dimensions of all inventory at Jake’s. Daily cubing any and all new items that arrive at Jake’s.
Identifies “like items” that are slotted in such a way that the products may not be confused and mis-picked; separate items, as needed, to reduce the possibility of mis-pick and miss-delivery of product to customers
Un-slot items with zero quantity on hand daily, preparing for more new items daily to arrive
Reviews forms, reports, graphs, and spreadsheets to ensure accuracy and completeness of assignments given.
Analyzes, identifies, and proposes action to the solution of problems within the operations department in an effort to increase productivity and the effectiveness of the department
Conforms to all equipment operation rules in an effort to reduce accidents and injuries.

Preferred Industry experience in foodservice distribution or wholesale distribution
Preferred experience working within slotting projects, inventory, and or order selection in a distribution warehouse
