Job Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the overall administrative management of the Eddyville site, including personnel, processes, company policies and regulatory requirements
Administrative site management
Administration of the team and resources for the manufacturing processes and support services for the production of Cyclodextrins (CD). This includes responsibility for the Enzyme and CD production, Lab and Quality management, Logistics, Procurement, Shipment, Maintenance and Engineering, Security, as well as the toll production and the raw material supply.
Implements, enforces and takes responsibility for applicable company policies and government regulations including but not limited to labor, EHSS (Environmental Health, Safety, Security), PSM (Process Safety Management), quality and food safety. Enforces adherence of personnel and contractors to follow laws, operational procedures, work instructions, specifications, regulations and directives.
Directs IMS system on Eddyville site as well as proper records, documents and data entry for SAP and other applicable information systems for the function. Manages customer complaint processes on Eddyville site.
Directs repair and maintenance processes on Eddyville site aiming at high reliability and efficiency. Directs procurement, warehouse, and shipment processes for compliance and efficiency.
Responsible for the site security and emergency response plans.
Prepares necessary reports monitoring actual figures vs. target, plan and previous years.
Productivity, Operational Excellence
Manages and promotes optimization of cost, production processes, reliability quality and capacity improvements. Encourages program to collect, evaluate and follow up on productivity ideas from staff. Implements programs and projects related to improve safety, efficiency, productivity, food safety, plant cleanliness, security, quality, process and premises
Coordination and consolidation for optimization and major investment project activities regarding operational data input and project documentation review.
Coordinate with WCC Div B Supply Chain regarding Supply Chain topics: logistics and scheduling for tolling. Coordinate with Div B Product Management regarding demand planning, inventory, customer complaints, campaign planning etc. Manage inventory, production costs, production variances, Cost Road Maps etc. with WCC Div B Controlling. Organize backup (starch supply, raw materials, enzyme). Keep close communication with logistics, procurement, EHSS, engineering etc in ADR/CHA/BGH etc.
Support for other Functions and External Communication
Supports Head of Global Cyclodextrin Supply-Chain and corporate administrative areas in miscellaneous activities and tasks pertinent to the function.
Performs as primary contact and company representative in front of local authorities and regulatory entities, regarding permits, visits, inspections and general communications.
Performs community outreach and public relations for the production site Eddyville in close cooperation with Corporate Communications
Department Management
Prepares, monitors and budgets, plans for maintenance activities and investments, schedules production, manages inventories and manages human resources issues for the plant according to company policy and requirements.
Directs and coordinates the functions of Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Site Engineer, Warehouse/Purchasing/Logistics Coordinator, Quality Manager.
Responsible for developing site resources such that skills are developed and maintained in a manner consistent with achieving operational and career objectives for all team members.
Directs and promotes adequate training for all plant employees regarding safety, process and quality requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Minimum 7 years of experience as Chemist, Biologist or Chemical/Bioprocessing Engineering, productivity management.
Supervisory experience in chemical or bioprocessing production manager.
Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations including Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety related regulations, ISO 22001, and Kosher standards as well as basic knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001.
Good project management skills. Basic SAP and Microsoft office products skills
