TEC West has partnered with a leading supplier of premium quality, naturally raised proteins in Compton, California to assist them in finding an experienced Production Scheduler on a full time basis.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Production Scheduler drives shareholder value by developing daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, purchase orders, customer requests, delivery rates, plant personnel, equipment capabilities and inventory availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Coordinate and schedule all Production runs
• Ensure optimal packaging levels are maintained to ensure no stoppage in production and no excess packaging inventory
• Ensure raw materials are on hand
• Create pro-forma sheets for various customers specifications
• Release product to the Production room
• Determine, communicate and monitor production lead times based on calculated throughputs and equipment and personnel availability
• Capture costs of all inputs and ensure within budget
• Work with Sales to support new product roll outs and maintain new product specs, create a forecast including full bill of materials, timing, labor, and work schedule and realistic timelines
• Analyze data and report metrics to develop mitigation strategies, opportunities for improvement and cost savings
• Responsible for daily Processing Administration Functions for certain customers:
• Bill raw material to production in Dynamics
• Enters the daily finished goods production into the accounting system
• Records and monitors yields and costs
• Liaise with 3rd Party Warehouse (Americold)
• Matches vendor invoices, purchase orders and receiving document and check for accuracy
• Codes vendor invoices for proper general ledger account distribution
• Submits vendor invoices to management for approval
• Files invoices in an unpaid file
• Maintains balance on raw material used by production
• Follows up discrepancies with the plant
• Checks prices to approved master price list
• Manages packaging and materials supplies to the processing facility including ordering, inventory control, and reconciliation of accounts
• Prepares, updates, and maintains product costing forms for all products produced in the processing facility
• Back up liaison with Placement Agency as needed:
• Contacts agency for additional workers
• Monitors agency invoice for labor costs, time off pay
• Receives approved timesheets
• Submits timesheets to outside payroll service provider

• Provide Head Office Finance team with reports:
• Prepares monthly expense accrual sheet
• Prepares month end inventory reports for raw material and packages

QUALIFICATIONS:

• College or high school diploma
• 5 years’ production scheduling experience, preferably in the meat or food industry
• Excellent Excel skills to work with processing spreadsheets; ability to work with formulas and format sheets accordingly
• Process oriented and system focused, with a continuous improvement approach
• Previous accounting administration experience an asset
• Excellent ability to plan, organize and prioritize with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong math skills, data entry, and keyboarding 55 wpm
