We are CURRENTLY seeking a Production Manager to join our growing team!
As a member of the CGT Management team, the Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production in order to meet operational targets within the organization while maintaining high safety, environmental and quality standards.
Other duties include maintaining policies and procedures, maintaining adherence to the production schedule, motivating staff to meet production goals, upholding a safe work environment, meeting high quality standards, high environmental standards, training and development of Production Supervisors and Operators. In addition, the Production Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing division of CGT through continued improvement initiatives.

Operational Planning and Management:
Plans and allocates resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental safety, quality, environmental and productivity goals.
Plans, evaluates and improves the efficiency of processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency and output.
Establishes and maintains relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department.
Reviews performance data that includes activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement and overall effectiveness.
Manages the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
Communicates regularly as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to stakeholders within the organization.
Analyzes and recommends workforce requirements.
Establishes and reviews production output according to the production schedules for all production processes to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
Works closely with Quality team to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
Encourages and promotes operating in a continuous improvement environment; removes waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
Collaborates with the Product Development team as well as product management staff to develop new product / production strategies.
Works closely with the Environmental Engineering Manager to promote and maintain an environmentally friendly and safe work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Leads a diverse Production Team to develop timely and robust solutions to adhere to the planned production plan.
Develops metrics and ensures performance of areas within scope of influence.
Mentorship and development of the Production Supervisors.
Mentorship and development of the production and warehouse operators.
Coaches production and warehouse operators as appropriate to improve performance.
Human Resources Planning and Management:
Works with the Human Resources Manager with the interviewing, selecting and training of all production personnel.
For all production staff which includes monitoring performance, evaluating competency, and conducting performance reviews for Production Supervisors and operators.
Compliance:
Ensures regulatory compliance with State, Federal and Local authorities.
Ensures environmental policies and regulations are in compliance with the ISO14001 Environmental Standard.
Ensures safety policies and regulations are in compliance with the ISO 45001 Safety Standard.
Responsible for working with Quality Assurance Management to maintain certifications for IATF 16949 and customers.
Customer Relationship Management:
Establishes good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with internal and external customers to achieve the goals of the organization.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
What You Offer Us:
Bachelor in Engineering/Operations or other related field is preferred; Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification also preferred.
5 to 10 years of progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a medium to large manufacturing facility, preferably in the automotive, rubber or textile industry.
Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Excellence (Lean Level Assessment, Lean Deployment and CI methodology), Visual Factory implementation.
Solid background in cultural, physical and procedural elements of Toyota Production System (TPS).
Experience with Cross-divisional operations and Value Stream mapping.
Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.
Fluent in application of ToC (Theory of Constraints), Standardized work, O.E.E.
Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.
Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends and prepare Management reports.
A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment with a sense of urgency.

Work Environment:
Standard work week, but additionally will often work evening, weekends and overtime hours to accommodate activities.
