OVERVIEW
Our client is continuing to grow and is needing a high-caliber Plant Manager to support their operations. The Plant Manager will be a hands-on leader overseeing all Production, Logistics, and Material Control activities within the production operations and tool & die shop.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all aspects of production operations including a workforce of 20 with 2 Supervisors
- Managing the tooling and equipment department including a workforce of 6 with 1 Manager
- Oversee warehouse and logistics operations including inventory management, shipping, and receiving with a staff of 4 including 1 Supervisor.
- Lead the production/material control process (planning & scheduling) including involvement in ERP and systems strategies.
- Mentor and develop a team of supervisors.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout the operations, instilling these principles within the workforce.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working in a discreet product, high mix production environment with an OEM customer base.
- Tool and Die / Metal Stamping industry experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience in the application of Lean techniques i.e. Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
- Workforce recruitment and development experience, with emphasis on manufacturing skills development.
- Experience with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
- Data-driven and process-oriented with the ability to consistently meet commitments and reach objectives without direct oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in supply chain, business, operations, management or related field.
