Position Overview:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: System file maintenance, purchase order maintenance, order guide maintenance and creation, cost changes, distributions, order entry, running reports, and communications with the customer and vendor base. Candidate mustbe a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and have a strong working knowledge of plant, cut flower, bouquet, and outdoor garden categories. Travel to retail locations & industry events as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide effective merchandising guidelines for retail stores that provide the customer with a point of difference.

Understand and develop a complete working knowledge of the business systems required to be proficient in the job role of merchandiser- promote Bozzuto’s Floral programs to develop and improve warehouse sales.

Provide a category analysis of product positioning, assortment, and tiers as needed throughout floral department. Provide specific recommendations on assortment needs for cut flowers, bouquets, plants and outdoor garden materials.

Develop plans to resolve excess waste and shrink through retail system, both from the procurement side and the retail side through inventory management plans, display plans, production plans, sanitation and preparation plans, etc.

Receive and enter orders from high priority customers

Submit orders to vendors and file those orders

Compile weekly/seasonal floral selections and create order guides with the information provided

Communicate weekly availabilities to chain accounts as well as information on booked orders.

Visit independent accounts to train floral/produce personnel on merchandising as well as care and handling procedures

Attend Bozzuto’s functions and industry events as needed

Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email

Coordinate agendas, make arrangements and set up/coordinate meetings and conferences as needed

Support staff in assigned project based work

Performs other functions including making photocopies, data entry, faxing, mailing and other duties as assigned

Handle all account related inquiries, and problems with final solutions

Walk warehouse & work in cold conditions when needed

To be cross trained to assist rest of perishable department

Professional and productive daily interaction with retail and internal community

Ability to learn and use fluently AS400 and WIMS systems as required

Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a professional and timely manner

Ability to work closely with all levels within various departments

Responsible for tracking inbound floral loads as needed

Act as backup and support as needed for Floral Category Manager

Education/Experience Required:

High school diploma or equivalent

5 years of retail or wholesale floral experience

Floral experience with a working knowledge of plant, cut flower, bouquet and outdoor garden materials

Mass market merchandising skills with the ability to travel

Positive attitude with a drive to be the best

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
