Job Description:

HelloFresh is searching for an action-oriented Director of WMS Product Design and Software Engineering to lead our product design, hosting architecture, and software development strategies and teams into the future. This leader is responsible for building and managing the teams that design, develop, and maintain technical solutions across HelloFreshs US digital domain in the warehouse fulfillment and inventory control space. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various functional teams including automation and production technology, procurement, finance and operations to drive innovative solutions leveraging our strategic WMS product: Krbers Warehouse Advantage (Highjump) platform, balancing competing priorities and tech resource demand. This location-flexible position can be physically based in any of our fulfillment centers listed below, a hybrid model, or can be a fully remote position if you reside in an eligible state for HelloFresh employment.

The Director of WMS Product Design and Software Engineering will work with key technology and product leaders across the US organization to enable the inventory management/ control domain strategy and evaluate technology-related priorities. The individual will have a knack for listening intently to stakeholders and then working rapidly with internal product, architecture and other technical disciplines to develop solutions to achieve business goals. The candidate for this role will have impeccable management and communication skills — knowing both how to lead and build high-performing software development teams and how to build leadership support for proactive solutions to anticipated technology challenges. This leader will relentlessly pursue team effectiveness, development velocity, and code quality through innovative ideas, processes, and solutions.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical direction, development oversight, and performance accountability for HelloFreshs deployment of Krbers Warehouse Advantage (Highjump) WMS platform across all US brand locations

Provide technical direction, development oversight and performance accountability for all WMS integrations to host tools/ systems as well as any automation MHE/ production technology solutions

Oversee/ manage the existing 3rd party hosted architecture for current deployments (13 & growing) and partner with department leadership on reviewing/ assessing future state hosting strategy options

Work with department level leadership in sourcing and partnering with 3rd party vendor providers to augment internal software development capacity/ expertise as needed

Partner with the peer WMS Services and Support organization leadership to establish robust QA functions that drive effective feedback, pushing teams to not only execute standard scenarios, but to evaluate edge cases, encourage innovation, and provide design feedback as part of test execution

Partner with departmental and executive leadership to support the WMS solution expansion to additional international markets as needed

Coach, develop, and lead team members to ensure organization, department, and individual goals/ KPIs are achieved

Work with HR and our Talent Acquisition team to further build out the organizational talent, playing an active role in the recruiting and sourcing process

Server on both the fulfillment technology and overall automation and technology leadership teams, helping to reinforce/ develop HelloFresh DNA values, establish KPIs, and prioritize strategic initiatives at a departmental level

Requirements:

10+ years of warehouse management system (WMS) software engineering and implementation experience with a tier-one WMS in an RF based distribution, manufacturing, or e-com fulfillment environment; direct experience with Krbers Warehouse Advantage (Highjump) WMS platform & SQL Server preferred

3+ years managing application integrations via microservices and associated toolsets

Experience managing multiple teams at the same time

Experience leading a design process that allows for scaling a digital technology operations ecosystem for volume, multiple brands, new digital properties

Experience leading evaluations to refactor or replace legacy systems, as well as developing and deploying solutions and processes to handle complex technology transitions and decisions

Demonstrated ability to partner and communicate effectively with non-technical peers/ team members

Proven ability to discern business requirements and translate into technical specifications

Strategic thinker with the ability to build and execute innovative digital product, combined with tactical ability to execute simultaneously against multiple competing priorities
