What You Will Do:
Implements and maintains organizational EHS, food safety and quality assurance programs.
Develops and leads implementation of technical plans, clearly defining the critical issues and approach to be used in resolving EHS and food safety issues.
Continual inspection of all operational areas for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and sanitation compliance.
Leads and participates in all regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections.
Manages all aspects of the SQF system including verification, review, and record management.
Places nonconforming product on hold and releases product.
Coordinates product and environmental testing with outside testing laboratory and holds/ releases product based upon these results.
Provides confirmatory checks of all Critical Control Points (CCPs).
Ensures pre-operational inspections are completed and that all deficiencies are rectified before production begins.
Ensures ATP testing swabbing and environmental monitoring swabbing are completed.
Ensures daily thermometer calibrations and weight verifications are completed.
Performs incoming inspections on products used in the production areas; approves or reject shipments; generates supplier corrective actions.
Supports Production in the application and/or monitoring of the SQF rules and controls.
Serves as a resource to Production and Operations regarding food safety and quality issues.
Generates and informs the immediate supervisor of all non-conformities to the SQF rules; accepts corrective and preventive actions; and closes nonconformances.
Performs Food Safety training and quality related training to all personnel impacting the SQF systems.
What You Need:
Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related curriculum.
HACCP and PCQI certifications are required.
5+ years of quality assurance and manufacturing experience in the food or dairy industry with at least 2 of those years in a management role.
Advanced knowledge of quality assurance processes and methods, preferably in a food industry setting.
Foundational knowledge of EHS programs and regulations.
Analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of fundamental quantitative analysis and statistical methods.
Technical writing skills to create policy documents and audit reports.
