Construction Volunteer Facilitator – Half-year The Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps members receive a living allowance ($17,000) to serve full-time, building strength and stability alongside homebuyer families, all while gaining real-world experience. AmeriCorps members engage with thousands of volunteers throughout the year and are integral to our mission. As an AmeriCorps member, you can serve in a leadership role on an active build site or in the office assisting families, volunteers, and staff. Member Duties : The Construction Volunteer Facilitator provides direct support to site supervisors, construction volunteers, and Habitat homebuyers in building and rehabilitating Habitat Homes. Member will learn construction skills, as well as, volunteer management and facilitation. The majority of service is performed outside on construction sites, either new-build or building rehabilitation with exposure to dirt, dust, dampness, construction debris, extreme temperatures, warehouse and construction noises, and fumes and odors from construction materials. Member will use basic and power construction tools, such as hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, utility knife, tape measure, scissors, drill, reciprocating saw, etc. Program Benefits : Childcare assistance if eligible , Living Allowance , Education award upon successful completion of service , Housing , boot/tool/clothing allowance , Health Coverage , Training .
