SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the development, modification, and programming of reports that summarize the mass amount of daily production/inventory movement data, so that performances and results can be reviewed, and decisions can be made.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Assist management in all areas of the company for better reporting ability, by reviewing the current manual reporting operations and reporting any variances or errors.
Analyze all operations of the plant to assist in better reporting, where possible, so that sound and accurate decisions can be made.
Review the bill records for outside warehouses.
Prepare inventory analysis reports as requested by the Controller or Director of Accounting.
Prepare and update inventories for outside storage and report on a weekly and monthly basis.
Perform the weekly stock close (inventory valuation process).
Prepare and report out the weekly sales overage calculation.
Proactively identify opportunities that can contribute outside traditional sphere of influence.
Prepare training documentation as needed for Inventory tracking and evaluation.
Participate in regular policy review meetings to identify necessary accounting policy changes, as needed.
Review current reporting functions and improve where possible if feasible.
Analyze all operations of the plant, to identify any margin opportunities, and make recommendations to realize any identified.
Initiate controls and processes, in any plant operation, to maximize all aspects of production, and assist management in the area of implementation if needed.
Analyze raw data from current systems to ensure proper reporting functions.
Develop reports to be able to compile information with minimal manual operation to increase current staff productivity.
Maintain accurate links between reports, and trouble shoot any HTML or Java code, when needed for this purpose.
Work with scheduling and sales departments (internal and Seaboard) to maximize any identified opportunities in the production and or warehouse areas.
Assist warehouse management to perform as proficient a warehouse and inventory process as possible.
Review plant labor reporting results and form recommendations to management in plant to increase productivity or reduce labor waste.
Work with IT and other technology departments to stay with continuous upgrades and data retrieval changes.
Coordinate with outside facilities to assist in their reporting of STF information accurately.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the work environment, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required or preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in accounting. Previous work and supervisory experience with Inventory Management systems (preferably AS400 and/or Carlisle) is required. Must be a detail-oriented, effective performer, who can operate within strict time lines and adapt to a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Must be self-motivated and able to work with other team members and motivate direct reports.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and employees. Must have the ability to influence and persuade others.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively communicate with candidates, hiring managers and others within and outside of the organization. Bilingual skills a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical accounting concepts to practical situations. Must possess strong analytical and metric-based skills.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram, written and/or verbal form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The employee needs to have extensive experience with using personal computers and Microsoft Software (WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT) and ERP systems. The employee should be able to create and operate MACROS reporting and contain the ability to write SQL. Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available. The ability to be flexible in work duties and to expand knowledge of the work area. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the plant production team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Generally the incumbent must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; move about the facility; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
