The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, Materials Management Unit is seeking an Administrative Services Coordinator I to oversee its Property Accounting Warehouse operation. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience in warehouse operations and forklift certification. The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties while supervising others and is required to work with the Judicial Branch manual and automated systems, examining and verifying transactions for accuracy, conducting product inspections, and controlling inventories, while also supervising the completion of equipment transactions involving procurement, reclassification, transfer, obsolescence and disposal.
The preferred candidate will possess knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration; knowledge of financial record keeping and budget preparation; knowledge of personnel and purchasing practices and procedures; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; analytical and organizational skills; ability to prepare and analyze financial documents and reports and computer skills.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining schedules for field services and moves. The preferred individual must possess a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and an effective communicator having above average organizational and customer service skills to serve as a liaison with other operating units, government agencies and the public. Extensive use of Excel, Word and e-mail is required. Use of other Microsoft software programs, UPS shipping and ability to learn other legacy systems a plus.
In-State travel required. Job will entail some lifting (up to 65 lbs.) and motor vehicle operation.
Starting Salary $65,760 – plus State of Connecticut benefits.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Five years of experience in a combination of fiscal/administrative functions (e.g., accounting, budget management, personnel, purchasing, or related business management functions).
1) College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor’s degree.
2) A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Candidates must possess a valid Connecticut motor vehicle operator’s license.
